The Tommy Makem Tribute Concert will be held at the Irish American Heritage Center on Saturday, November 21st. Tommy Makem was extremely influential in Irish music and his work with the Clancy Brothers started the craze of Irish music heard in pubs throughout the world today. He died in 2007 after a long battle with ...cancer. In his memory and to raise funds for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research at Children's Memorial Hospital, this special benefit concert will feature his own sons, The Makem and Spain Brothers, and several local bands who have been influenced by his music - The Larkin and Moran Brothers, The Chancey Brothers, The Dooley Brothers and The Sullivan Brothers.
