The Litribune Our tanks of thanks are firing mortars of grateful to each and every person who came to the Strutt in quite the blizzard last night - appreciations to the wonder-bands, as well as those who travelled to make it. Love-drunk and hungover, Aaron Geer Editor

After seeing and hearing about The Litribune at Literary Life's National Bookstore Day, I decided to dig a little deeper and find out what the founder/organizer, Benjamin Davey, and the relations manager/organizer, Dan Climie, are really all about. ...
The Litribune

The Litribune Come out and enjoy a night of local music unplugged and local poets reading their original work, and also a chance to come meet The Litribune, West Michigan's new community art and activist magazine (http://www.thelitribune.com). This will be a house party more or less, but we will have four bands playing pretty short ...sets, with a different poet reading with every band.

As of right now, the artists we have are:

CANDYBAR BOYS- members of Cookie Bumstead and Ribbons of Song's new band. Should be awesome!

RYAN XAVIER LANE- An awesome singer/song-writer from Mt. Pleasant! http://www.myspace.com/feel.

THOSE EIGHTY ACRES- singer/songwriter Nate Scott's new band that just released their first album, should be great to see them all together unplugged. http://www.myspace.com/thoseeightyacres

PETALS RANG THE BELL- an unplugged set from singer/songwriter Shane Tripp and members of his band. Always an experience to see them acoustic. http://www.myspace.com/petalsrangthebell

We will be asking for a $2 donation for the LITRIBUNE (thelitribune.com) to help with their cause. And B.Y.O.B by the way.

And we will also be telling people about our new project we are working on, the GR Creative Youth Center (grcommunity.wordpress.com). A new tutoring, workshop and printshop for children in Grand Rapids!

The Litribune

The Litribune So, after being dormant over the last month or so for writing workshops in Kalamazoo, us editors of the Litribune have decided to start a-new, placing the writers workshops at WMU's environmental studies house, the Gibbs house. It's a quaint location that has "plenty of space to offer (Weissenborn "How to Feed the Anim...als" 87).
Bring your ragged poetry, torn notebooks, blood-soaked-stories, and your own unique (and individual) voice to the table!

The workshop will start around two o'clock.

If anyone needs a ride, Carlton, my worthy-nerdy driver/car, has some seats open; my number is 616.516.9064 or e-mail us at theLitribune@gmail.com.

Thanks and hope to see y'all there.

Peace, Love & Clones
