The Maine Whoopie Pie
Tamara Cooley Eggemeyer I love Whoopie Pies but....I am from Ohio. A family friend made them when we were kids. She gave me her recipe, framed for a wedding gift! It is not the "real" thing because it has a frosting, not marshmallow filling but I am still proud to say that I am a Whoopie fan!
Kami Higgins Horch i am born and raised in maine and i didn't even realize that people hadn't even heard of whoopie pies. that is just terrible!!! those poor people... i love them, and the recipe i make (from my mom) is my all time faorite. and believe me, i have tried lots !!! :)

I grew up eating whoopie pies made by my Mom who's a native of Maine. Back then there was only one kind of whoopie pie - Chocolate with marshmallow creme filling and while the others are great I think the originals are still best. Raised by parents from Maine, I grew up on Whoopie (Whoopy) Pies. In fact my mom has not one, but several different recipes for these homemade treats in her files.

Suzanne Ellen-Marie Akers I've had blueberry whoopie pies and pumpkin whoopies (as well as the traditional) and they are AWESOME! A lady in my church makes them and they are the BEST! I love anything pumpkin.. and did I mention I live in MAINE?
