Susan Covey

Susan Covey When my Momma moved here (TX) after she and dad married, it was a recipe she brought with her. It has become a "Food Group" in our family and when she passed away, we took her original recipe and had it copied and lamintated for the family so it would never get lost. They are amazing!

Janet YAY! The Maine Whoopie Pie is here in Alaska where we have a secret enclave of Mainers and folks from MA. The first time my daughter took them for a treat for school classmates, she got lots of ?'s and funny faces--until the kids tried them. We've had a lot of requests for them since then (but now she can make them for me!).

Tamara Cooley Eggemeyer

Tamara Cooley Eggemeyer I love Whoopie Pies but....I am from Ohio. A family friend made them when we were kids. She gave me her recipe, framed for a wedding gift! It is not the "real" thing because it has a frosting, not marshmallow filling but I am still proud to say that I am a Whoopie fan!

I have three frosting recipes for whoopie pies from the 1950s and earlier, so they are also the real thing. I think it has to do with what part of Maine you come from. I have never tried the marshmallow creme fillings. Actually, I have never even seen a recipe for them.
