One might argue that G allowed M and Noelle to remember things they otherwise wouldn't.
One might also point out that Noelle's muteness is never defined. We don't know if she can't speak (medically), or simply doesn't spea...k (like Holly Hunter in The Piano).

On second viewing, you'll probably notice that quite a few things are overlapping between the sections -- the boundaries between them erode as each piece plays out. Characters from Part Three show up in Part One, and vice-versa, and seem to have knowledge beyond their scope.
