In case you're curious. the oval picture "of" Omar Khayyam is, first of all, not really of Omar Khayyam because there are no extant pictures of him. It's a portrait that was painted by an unknown artist, probably English, and set into a very fine le...ather binding by the London firm of Sangorski and Sutcliffe, probably the first decade of the 20th century, and the book that is bound is an edition of Omar Khayyam's poetry. And it's in the exhibition in the section entitled "Orientalizing Omar Khayyam." Thus spake the curator.
