The Parent 'Hood Anyone have a parenting New Year’s Resolution? Something you hope to do different/better/more of/less of as a mom or dad in 2010?

That's a good one. I've definitely started to appreciate that sometimes the best gift you can give your kids is giving yourself a break from them.

I'm not a big resolution guy really but if I had to pick one I'd say spreading the word to all men to be more involved in their children's lives.

Bob Wiltfong Hello, Parent 'Hood! I enjoy your work in the Tribune! Perhaps we can learn from one another...?

Dear Bryan,

Welcome to the club, my man. The few, the proud...

Discoveries you may make along the way:... See More

* Some male public restrooms still DON'T have changing tables

* If you don't align them properly, baby backpacks can prove to be excellent platforms for your child to (repeatedly) kick you in your manhood

* Crafts stores are no place for heterosexual men to shop

Stay strong!

Sincerely,
Your Fellow SAHD's (aka: Manny's or Mister Moms)

The Parent 'Hood You’re expecting (and maybe providing) a round of new toys/gadgets/clothing, etc. for your kids at the holidays. How do you integrate the new stuff while keeping clutter in check?

The kids' Christmas list included about eight toys. So, we picked eight of their toys and donated them to the Infant Welfare Society. It made our daughter proud that she was helping make Christmas happier for some other children.
