Rachael Johnson I am all for *sterilization* of the members of the human race that cannot support children and exist in areas that are overpopulated, or who are just plain stupid/unintelligent or crooked. Sterilization is a more permanent form of birth control, yes, but the chemicals in birth control pills (spermicides and ovulation ...suppressants) get into the water via the sewage system and affect the surrounding organisms as a result. All humans definitely don't have the right to breed, but we do have the undeniable duty to care for our world.

I don't claim to know the solutions, but overpopulation is by far the single largest aggregate to every single major problem with the planet. If you trace back disease, war, malnutrition, pollution, poverty; everything has one of it's root causes as overpopulation.
