If you haven't heard of my Dad's eating habits then you will now know about them.
First of all, you have to understand that he is very healthy, passing all of his physicals and such with flying colors. He's kind of a scientific oddity. But enough about that….on to "The Pot". *dun, dun, DUNNNNN!*
"The Pot" is what we in the family have come to call his culinary craziness. Mostly because he uses a big boiling pot to make it and eat it out of. ((ATTENTION: no bowls were harmed, or used, in the making of this...meal..thing.))
Soon, we will post a list of the ingredients used. These ingredients are then made into a soup using milk and water. Some ingredients added at one time and others added throughout the lifespan of "The Pot". This particular "Pot" has lasted nine (9) months and is still going strong, however the LONGEST Pot-life recorded was fourteen (14) months (it should be noted that most infants can walk AND talk by the time they're 14-months old). Once this batch of soup has concluded it's run, the actual pot will be prepped for the next batch. Now it's crucial that you realize what "prepped" means. The substance that was inside of the pot has usually been there SO LONG that normal cleaning methods are futile. He realized quickly that no less than a screwdriver woud be sufficiant. And that is, in all honesty, what he uses. Hilarious, I know.
**If you've ever heard of Friendship Bread it is very similar to that. With Friendship Bread, a piece of the bread dough is saved back, not cooked with the rest of the dough, and given to a friend who then adds that part to their dough. Then, after that person kneads the previous piece into their batch of dough, they save some back and give it to the next friend. So, depending on the longevity of the friendship-lineage, the last batch of bread may have been made with dough that has parts of it dating back hundreds of years. Similarly, there are parts of "The Pot" that my Dad ate today that date back to June of 2008 (that's right...LAST June) but also some ingredients that he added today.
