Azim Jamal
Azim Jamal is an international inspirational speaker and the chairman and founder of Corporate Sufi Worldwide Inc. He was a senior partner in an accounting firm for more than fifteen years before he made a switch from "accounting for busines" to "accounting for life" after a life-changing experience volunteering in the developing world. Harvey McKinnon is a fund-raising expert, inspirational speaker, author, and trainer, who has helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for non-profits from Amnesty International to UNICEF.

After launching the paperback edition of The Power of Giving on October 15th, we are very proud to announce that it reached the Number 1 spot at Barnes and Nobles on October 17th! We are incredibly grateful to all those who gave their tremendous support by buying the book and we hope that the message of giving continues to spread throughout this holiday season.

The Power of Giving Is happy that a publisher just bought the world rights from Penguin to do an Arabic edition of the Power of Giving. Also, we just learned that it takes about 18 months after a publisher acquires the rights to actually get the edition on the shelves. So the Portuguese edition will probably be out February 2010. We will let you know whenever we hear another language edition is being printed.

The Power of Giving
Thank you for helping The Power of Giving to reach Number 1 on the Barnes and Noble (the biggest bookstore in North America) bestseller list! This would be quite a feat even if we had a big ad budget or media exposure. We didn't have these resources. But we had something more valuable. Friends. Like you. We had the... help of friends, acquaintances, and people we have never met. And these are kind folks who care deeply about giving, and making the world a better place. They told their friends about the book, through emails, Facebook twitter postings and face to face. So this success was only possible through the generous support of friends like you. As you know all our royalties are going through the Tides Foundation to be distributed to charities. So you help raise more funds for great groups. And you help others to become inspired to give more when they read the book. It's a great way to help build more caring communities. That's why we'd like to ask you to consider doing one small thing to help continue the momentum - and to enhance giving.. You can choose what one thing would work for you from the list below. And if we sell enough books over the next week or two, we can reach the New York Times bestseller list. That will mean two things: lots more publicity about giving, and lots more money raised. There are some ideas below. Please feel free to do anything you can think of as well. We aren't asking for a lot of your time just 5-30 minutes. Thanks for considering this and let me just add that sooner would be better since we probably only have to sell another 1000 books in the next 4 days to make the NYTs list. That almost certainly will increase visibility, mean better discounts on the book, better store display, and maybe major media coverage. Anything you can do would be most meaningful. A few ideas. · Tell your friends about the book.· Buy a gift copy or two.· Encourage non-profits to give them to board members and major donors· Encourage your business to pass them out to clients.· Write a blog or a Facebook or twitter posts· Help arrange a media interview.· USE your creativity!
