FAREWELL RATIONAL ACADEMY
Fresh off the back of proving for BIG SOUND Summit Showcase audiences just how polished months of lying low in the studio has found them, The Rational Academy, Brisbane’s favorite psych avant-pop collective, say farewell to local fans at the Powerhouse’s Live Spark this Sunday before embarking ...on a nine-date tour of the Land of the Rising Sun.
The tour comes in support of their internationally acclaimed sophomore release, Swans, out through Someone Good. They’ll be flanked by local lo-fi psych-pop duo Do the Robot, as they play everything from concert halls, to Buddhist temples to lounge rooms. The tour also boasts rare appearances from The Rational Academy’s noise-band alter-ego, White Bears of Norway, who joined Osaka’s hardcore-orchestra freaks, Vampillia, on stage earlier in the year.
The Academy are joined by Montpelier (formerly The Quills) for Live Spark, kicking off 3:30pm this Sunday at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Entry is free!Read More
