Substituting saffron for poppies should be pursued as part of a U.S. strategy to reduce the Afghanistan drug trade, reduce funding for insurgents and the Taliban, and stabilize the region.
The Roosevelt Institution Alumni Network On June 4, 2009 over 40 DC Roosevelters gathered at the home of alumni Sarah Brown, John Gedmark, Suzanne Kahn, and Nate Loewentheil to meet up, enjoy the start of summer, and meet a few of the Academy Fellows.

The 80 Million Strong coalition, organized by the Roosevelt Institution, Mobilize.org and SAVE, includes dozens of national youth groups focused on raising awareness of these issues and promoting solutions aimed at our generation.
We’re asking for $40 for those of you gainfully employed, and $20 for those of you, like me, at nonprofit jobs.
