The Advisory Council of The Salvation Army Alegria invites you to a special holiday house party on November 21st 2009. This year’s theme is “The Gift”, a celebration of the different ways we give to each other. Enjoy a night of music, refreshments by Loquai, mystery gifts, and holiday cheer.
The evening begins at 7pm,... with a short presentation at 8pm on the theme by staff and residents of Alegria. The evening concludes at 9pm. During the house party guests can support Alegria through the purchase of a mystery gift or a tax deductable donation.

The Salvation Army Alegria Just received confirmation from the State of California terminating one of our contracts. Luckily (and sadly) we were prepared and had not budgeted this revenue for 2009-2010. Though we are prepared, many of our partner HIV/AIDS organizations are struggling with the lost funding. Its times like these that individual gifts make the greatest difference.

The Salvation Army Alegria 45 children from Alegria are heading to Target on August 11th for a back to school shopping spree.
The Salvation Army Alegria is half way through a renovation of our emergency housing program. You can't be a block from the Ritz Carlton and not make an effort to match their standard at .001% of the cost.
The Salvation Army Alegria Last year we converted to reusable plates and containers in our kitchen operation. To date we have saved over $6,000 and reduced our contribution to landfill space. Simple decisions can create significant impact.
The Salvation Army Alegria Staff, residents, and volunteers enjoyed a great afternoon of food, music, dance, and games for our 2009 Alumni BBQ. Thank you to all of the volunteers who joined us for the event.
