The Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies Sidna Brower Mitchell was the female editor of the Mississippian in 1962 when The University of integrated. She wrote an editoral supporting the integration in a special edition published during the riots. She was censured by the ASB Senate but also nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
