
Dawn Willis Our home was broken into and burglarized on 11/18. I found out that my cousins home was also broken into 2 weeks ago(1/4 mile from my home) We live along 31. I wanted to let everyone in St. Martin know to be careful. Has anyone else had a breakin recently? I am so angry and want to catch this violator!!!

It's nice to see good ole St. Martinville hanging in there with some meaningful efforts to hold the town. It seems to me after being gone about 20 yrs that the primary challenge St. Martinville has never addressed since the 50s-70s is that there is no new net money coming into the town (Lafayette has always been a cas...h drain where people went to spend money) - a negative cash drain other than gov't supplements from other taxpayers - I'd do everything I could (Bobby Jindal model) to focus on incentivizing private capital coming at least into the Parish to set up shop and bring some fresh cashflow to town, job spawn, and quit leaning on gov't stimulus for everything. Everyone in my generation (sadly) had to leave town to find gainful employment - wasn't because we necessarily wanted to go at the time.
