The Tiger and Me
Good afternoon,
This Sunday we're playing some songs we made up on a stage at The Great Britain Hotel. They have the stage set-up especially for this type of thing. Immediately before we play our songs, Tessa and The Typecast will play some of their songs.
You don't have to pay to be there or hear them. You can just come... in.
It's FREE.
Brilliant.
Here is the press release:
Melbourne five-piece The Tiger and Me’s gypsy folk is a wink and a nod to the cabaret dens of old, complete with seductive accordion, sultry violin, high heels and trilbies – a rollicking good time.
They are currently finalising their debut album, with the first single to be launched in early November.
On Sunday 30th August they return to The Great Britain Hotel, the scene of several tiger-residencies and the venue that oversaw their progression from sweet duo to raucous five-piece. Music kicks off at 5:30, with Tessa and The Typecast warming the stage. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
The Tiger and Me will be taking the opportunity to showcase songs from their upcoming release, along with highlights from an already impressive back catalogue, which saw Triple J's Jmag name them one of the six best unearthed roots bands in Australia.

SARAH GALDES
We're pleased to announce that our new drummer is none other than Ms Sarah Galdes.
If you weren't one of the 350 people at her debut show (I apologised to her for such a poor turnout...) then get along to one soon to see the new tiger in action.
Sarah enjoys stamp collecting, competitive jousting, helping the librarian put the books back into alphabetical order, falconry, and Belgium.
Norway so help me god you better stay away from our drummer this time you oil-farming socialist icemen. Henceforth all Norwegians are banned from gigs, and I am working on the Government to keep them all out of the country. Northland thieves. Bah.

The Tiger and Me
8:00 - Doors
8:30 - 9:15 - Buttertime
9:30 - 10:10 Nymphs
10:10 - 10:30 - Belle Peppers Burlesque
10:30 - 11:10 - Tiger & Me
11:10 - 11:30 - Ballistix drum troupe
11:30 - 12:20 [Me]
We have a show this Friday, supporting local theatrical rockers [ME], who operate very much in the spirit of Muse. The evening planned also feat...ures a 10-piece burlesque dance squadron, a hip-hop act, a drum troupe, the all singing all dancing all very familiar to most of you a cappella female vocal quartet The Nymphs, and also a ragtag bunch of tigers (note: no actual tigers will be present).
We will be breaking out some new numbers and an ambitious cover of a Beatles song. And of course Henry the Horse dances the waltz.
Doors are at 8:30, or check in at our website later in the week for actual time we'll be onstage. I suspect closer to 10 but this is to be confirmed.
You can head to the east brunswick club website to book in advance and save, which I highly recommend in the current harsh global financial climate. You can have your cake and also eat it.
A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
New drummer found hooray!
The show on Friday is a very special event, as we will be unveiling our brand new and super talented drummer. This is very exciting for us. After much searching we finally managed to track down a more than worthy replacement for the departed Viking Mr Daniel.
We found her in the corridors of the VCA, where unwitting youngsters are instructed in the black art of jazz. I liked to think that we've somehow rescued her from her a slow and painful death by bebop, scatting and Dm #9 add 13 chords, but Jane assures me I'm an idiot.
Like Tim, she uses her amazing jazz powers for good rather than evil, and will remain anonymous until Friday. Do come and hear the new Tiger.Read More
