The University of Texas Longhorn Alumni Band began in 1964 with 67 members. Now, LHAB consists of over 3,000 members spanning seven countries. Each year 800+ Longhorn Alumni Band members reunite as 'The Blast from the Past.'

1975 University of Texas Longhorn Band plays at the halftime of the Texas- OU football game, Oct 1975, Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas. Halftime features a concert performance of Bill Chase's "Open Up Wide", featuring the trumpet section. I played trumpet in the Longhorn band from 1975 to 1978.

We have been asked to perform again at the TEXAS EXES Send Off for
the
new class of Longhorns. This is the one we've done before, so you all
...know
this is a big event with a lot of exposure for us to the UT leadership,
too. We'd like a good turnout as the hall is large and there will be a
lot
of people there.
Here are the details:
WHEN: JULY 29th
WHERE: Radisson Hotel at Central Expressway just south of
Mockingbird
TIME: Meet at 5:30, play from 6
-6:30
DRESS: The usual, black and white. I have the vests and
music. I also have a snare and two bass drums!
FOOD: Yes, after we play we can graze the
buffet.
This is always a fun event with the Exes, the new students and
their
parents, and of course, the LHAB to make sure the proper ambience is
