The Vermont Arts Council please join us for the Art of Action reception in Montpelier...food from NECI, music by Sheefra, and fire juggling by Kerry Kaye...all happening from 5-7pm at 50 Main Street (former location of Capitol Video) TONIGHT!!!!!! (And don't forget to bring your friends)

The Vermont Arts Council is proud to announce that we already have 29 Vermont high schools signed up for our Poetry Out Loud program, a national poetry recitation competition presented in partnership with the Poetry Foundation and the National Endowments for the Arts. October 30th is our final day for school registration, in case you know of any schools that should be involved. It's going to be an exciting year!

The nonprofit Center for Arts Education found that New York City high schools with the highest graduation rates also offered students the most access to arts education.
The Vermont Arts Council -- Alex, Michele and Diane just returned from the Grantmakers in the Arts Conference in NYC. Titled "Navigating the Art of Change, it was an inspirational gathering of about 300 public and private grantmaking organizations from across the country. wants to remind you: If you're out and about this weekend, take in one (or both) of the Art of Action exhibitions touring the state. Over 100 pieces of groundbreaking art were created for this project and most are touring in two separate exhibits: The Artists Choice Tour is at Two Main Street in Randolph thru Oct 31.... They are hosting an open house all day Sunday. The Curators Choice Tour is at the Chaffee Arts Center in Rutland until Nov 30. Both exhibitions include work by all ten artists.Read More

The Vermont Arts Council is hosting the second 'doing our pART' online art auction to benefit the Vermont Foodbank (Nov 27-Dec 4). Last year we raised $10,254 to help feed hungry Vermonters. We're looking for donations of art, crafts, tickets, lessons, house concerts, etc. Check it out on our website....
The Vermont Arts Council Diane Scolaro just returned from two days of meetings in Columbus, OH with the State Arts Advocacy Network.
