The Virtual School of Music(R)

Involve some rock or metal. There is exceptional talent in hard music, especialy metal. Or maybe just some electric guitar, like Yngwie Malmsteen or Steve Vai... I was kinda ticket off to know that I was kicked out cause I couldnt read sheet music to; tabs should be available for those who need it.

Tabs are like cheats in a video game though, and if they did that, trumpet players would want finger positions, and trombone players would want slide positions...eventually reading music and real talent would become more and more rare...like video games, it's kinda lame to just have cheats, and you aren't really beating it...you aren't really ... See Morelearning properly, and it would help more to read music, and people who have the music and read it have the practice and become more talented...I hope you don't take offence, I'm only looking at it realistically...honestly though, as much as people hate them, I think scales should be practiced, as it's very benficial...and most of all, rhythm studies are very important...i've never had it in class but i know that they can be very very helpful, and improve the classes playing level.

What if there were different classes created - one specifically for more concert band-types and one for more smaller ensembles? There would still be learning to read lead sheets and tabs, but more emphasis on styles? Do you think this would be better?
