I look over the page of WNBA (Women... Read More’s National Basketball Association) and notice there’s a mistake of the MVPs (Most Valuable Players) on both the Finals and Regular Seasons. From 1997 to 2005, the MVPs of the Finals happen of be the MVPs of the Regular Season while the MVPs of the Regular Season are the MVPs of the Finals. When I look at the MVP Finals winners, some of them where not in the Finals those years. When I look at the MVPs of the Regular Seasons, they happen to belong to the champion teams in the Finals. The MVPs of the Finals and Regular Seasons from 2006 to 2008 are correct. Before the next new issue comes, hope you can have that corrected. That is all and more power to you. :)

We're toiling away on the 2010 edition — rounding up the usual updates, sketching out some new features, and starting to argue over some of our annual "editor's picks" lists, like top news stories and the time capsule. But why should we have all the fun? ...

...Have been greatly exaggerated. It's true that World Almanac Education Library Services is slated to close by the end of the current fiscal year (see below for press release), but this does not spell the end of The World Almanac and Book of Facts or The World Almanac for Kids...

Thanks loads, Joshua. I finally found copies through Borders Books. I will miss World Almanac Educational Books mainly because of their reference books and kits with the additional lessons.

I wish I could find somewhere to buy the updated World Almania or blackline masters. I'm assuming that they are no longer made, since I always got them from WAE. My current set is almost 4 years old and falling apart, but I hesitate to purchase a new set. It may not be worth it if I don't have any teaching materials to go with it (or have to ... Read Morespend hours making my own). I have to do something, because I am going to have a larger class this year and don't have enough books to go around. Any suggestions?

The World Almanac I'm not sure what restrictions might exist for orders from Egypt -- Amazon should have the book available in most regions, or ordering information is available through our distributor, Simon & Schuster (simonsays.com).

Ok, ok... since the eagle-eyed folks at ResourceShelf have already sniffed this out, I might as well make the formal announcement: The World Almanac now has a Twitter feed. If your response is "Huh?" then I suggest a quick jump over to the NYTimes for a recent explanation of the Twitter phenomenon...

With the holiday gift-giving season behind us, there are a lot of new World Almanacs floating around out there. For the most part, feedback on the 2009 edition has been positive -- especially from those readers who have begged us for years to hold the book open for U.S...

Over the next few weeks, I'll spend a lot of time rounding up the big (and odd) events of the past year on various TV and radio shows — keep an eye here for advance notice (and post-show recaps) of some of the more notable conversations. Special thanks to the folks from the 10! ...

So Sarah and I survived another big satellite media tour: neither of us slept through our 4AM wakeup calls, we successfully hid our pasty white skin (the mark of the true almanackist) under a few layers of makeup, and we made it through 19 interviews without boring anyone to tears with long...
