Friends, family and dignitaries attended the memorial service for Norman Borlaug, the man who taught for two-and-a-half decades at A&M and won the Nobel Peace Prize. Among the speakers at Rudder Auditorium were Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.

In one of his final interviews, Dr. Norman E. Borlaug sat down with the Wall Street Journal's Roger Thurow to discuss why famine still exists nearly four decades after he was recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize.

Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, the man who saved more lives than any other person who has ever lived, died Saturday, September 12 in his Texas home. He was 95 years old.

Following the death of World Food Prize Founder Norman Borlaug, various tributes to his impact and lasting legacy have been coming in from all parts of the globe.
