The Year of Fog
The Year of Fog FNAC in France has published its list of last week's bestsellers. L'annee brouillard, Sophie Aslanides's translation of The Year of Fog, was #5 nationally. The top four bestsellers were Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer; Troy, by Jean-Louis Mourier and Christophe Arleston ; Le Premier Jour, by Marc Levy; and the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.
The Year of Fog 5-year-old Hassani Campbell still missing, last seen in Rockridge, Oakland, on Monday. The child is 3 feet tall, 40 pounds, and wears leg braces with Spiderman stickers. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt when he went missing. He has cerebral palsy and cannot move quickly. View details below. Oakland police and the FBI are investigating.

The Year of Fog An article in the French newspaper Le Figaro today quotes Laurence Deschamps, the president of the major French retailer Fnac, on the state of book sales. Deschamps says that numbers are up from last year, and two books in particular are breaking records: Toni Morrison's "A Mercy" and The Year of Fog (L'annee brouillard, translated by Sophie Aslanides)!
