The Sound Kitchen is the sound recording facility formerly known as Madhead Kitchen [1999-2003], affiliated to the independent record label Madhead Kitchen Records and the visual production unit Zikosa Pictures. The facility is in the process of setting up a branch in Kampala, Uganda to take it's unique style of professional sound production to East Africa.
The London unit is mobile and is run by producer Kaz Kasozi who brings over 11 years professional studio experience and 15 years as a musician/arranger. The Kampala branch is to be run by a collective of musicians with periodical visits by engineers/producers from the UK. Construction of a dedicated building was held back by beauraucratic delays with the planning permission but work is finally under way; the first phase was completed in December 2007; it is set to open in 2009.
