keeping up the quarrels of Nations, is as shocking as it is true; but when those
who are concerned in the government of a country, make it their study to sow
discord, and cultivate prejudices between Nations, it becomes the more
unpardonable." -- Thomas Paine, Rights of Man

The Church claims all great men. But the truth is the great men of all nations have, for the most part, rejected Christianity. Of these six historic Americans -- the six greatest men that have lived on this Continent -- [b[not one was a Christian. All were unbelievers -- all Infidels -- all Freethin...

Perhaps this should have been worded slightly different. It is safe to say and clear to anyone Paine the men mentioned disagree with or opposed organized religion, of any kind. In the system that grows from such organization feeds corruption, manipulation and control. History has shown us this and if we search our souls, we know it to be true, ... See Moretime and time again. Did he oppose the teachings of the Bible, which is Christianity. Not an organized religion but rather a guide to living, a document of truth and understanding. Is it so different than the Tao? Are we certain that Paine and these men disagree with and or opposed the life and teachings of Christ?

Manny Whitlock Hey Thomas Paine People, how are you all? Welcome Aboard - We at The Liberal Democratic Party : http://www.facebook.com/pages/LIBERAL-DEMOCRATIC-PARTY/166941438365 like Thomas Paine

On November 2, 2009 The Liberal Democratic Party was formed for Facebook Fans and Friends and Family all across this Great land. I currently live in The South Central section of The United States of America. The Land of The Redman also known as The Great State of Okla...homa. Oklahoma is a diverse state with a great and long lasting heritage that dates back way before The Land Run of 18 and 89. Our intents are to have a Representative(s) from each and every state to both Administer this page and have links to their own State(s) Application/Page as well. We are Americans and we must seek American representation of American Values that are not limited to what one single sect of society has to say on the matter. From the poorest of the poor to the most corporate of elite, we should all have a peaceful voice on the matters concerning agreements and Our State(s). If we were not United, we would simply be a state. We are United therefore we are The United States. We do not seek to judge you for what you were but rather seek to see you for what you are. We see good in everybody from sea to shining sea. From the poorest of the poor to wealthiest of them all, we know everyone has something to say on matters concerning our Liberality. One thing is for sure, we are not out take away guns as many have often claimed. We believe that well organized Americans whom are safe and representative of American Values and Law Abiding citizens can not only own gun(s) but be a gun owner in safety and in peace. If you have not yet joined, you are peacefully and lovingly offered at this time, the softly spoken word and the good outreaching hand of peace. Thank you for your time and GOD bless America.

These are not comments about what I believe. These are quotes from "The Age of Reason". I think the quotes are questioning Paul (vs. Jesus). And I'm not entirely sure that Paine is denying the existence of Paul. I think he's questioning the authorship of the books that bear his name.

But if you're asking I what I believe: to my knowledge there... See More is no physical evidence that Jesus existed, nor no contemporaneous writings by or of him. That would leave the jury still out on the issue in my court.

Mike, I think that your government is based too little on compromise, I'm afraid and too much on the rule of the majority.
I really think that a two-party system will always lead to the extremes. I think that the real evil here is on one-man constituencies that always lead to two-party systems and two party-systems most often lead to more ... See Moreuncompromising ideologies than multi-party systems.
I also strongly suggest that a multi-party system will almost always lead to more balanced society than a two-party system, if one discounts Italy, which is a odd case of obvious failure among multi-party democracies.

Nobody in the hotel seemed to know anything about Paine, though. If you care for a rich Paine experience, you'll want to leave the site of his birth and walk down the road to the Ancient House Museum. There's a respectable Paine exhibit, and some very lovely staff who can expand on the available information.

I'm a big fan of Paine, but this student's power point doesn't look like a very complex work -- mainly a bio/CV, with one or two extra slides summarizing his impact on the Revolution. Plus the font and background color selected makes it fairly difficult to read. Not really a very impressive contribution about a great man, IMHO.

By any reasonable estimation the greatest erosion of our rights in my lifetime was during the Bush II administration. So far, the worst sounding (and it really does only sound bad) move on President Obama's part is the appointment of "Czars"... most of whom are put in without the advice and consent of the Senate. But, it turns out Czars have ... See Morelittle real power, still have to go through regular secretaries and so on... and Bush II appointed MORE of them than Obama! Of course the right wing folks never let a little thing like reality get in the way of good propaganda.
