No kidding, thanks. And before I go bonkers bored at work and googling reviews of Inherent Vice to find the phrases "light" or "beach reading" in them...check it out again. The phrase "sympathetic magic" might leap out at you, followed by karma, zombies, etc.

(Sympathetic magic: like produces like, the premise upon which voodoo dolls are made. Helluva book, as funny and sad as Carlin was.)
