Tikkun - A Jewish Magazine, an Interfaith Movement Hundreds of young people converged on Chicago this week to engage in interfaith dialogues and launch new projects. Very exciting! Here's a blog post about Eboo Patel's interfaith youth movement.

Source: www.tikkun.org
In one room, young Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus, secular humanists, and others cluster in a circle to learn strategies for facilitating constructive interfaith discussions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Down the hall, more young people — bareheaded or wearing headscarves or kippot — cr...

CNBC interrupted its usual program today for a shocking bit of breaking news: the U.S. Chamber of Commerce had decided to stop opposing the Kerry-Boxer climate bill and instead “throw its weight behind strong climate legislation.” What great news! Could it be true?

Tikkun - A Jewish Magazine, an Interfaith Movement "More conflict (of a kind) is needed." Do you agree with that? Responding to Obama's receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize, Dave Belden argues that Obama is "in reaction mode against ugly divisiveness. He’s not modeling good divisiveness." Come share your thoughts in the lively comment string!

Peace is not absence of conflict. Peace requires hidden conflicts to be brought out and engaged in nonviolently, so they don’t get repressed and eventually erupt in violence. When conflicts are repressed, injustices do not get redressed. Pain builds. People suffer in obscurity (which is not peaceful...

Tikkun - A Jewish Magazine, an Interfaith Movement The new featured art of the week is up on Tikkun Daily: a beautiful "Shadow Series" by Lanell Dike. Our arts blogger tells the artist's story and gives a taste of her other work, as well.

Source: www.tikkun.org
The artist explains her inspiration: "I was standing in a river watching my shadow in the water. I spent all this time figuring out what is self, and constructing my self. There are billions of dollars spent on self help, and on creating an image of ourselves so we fit in with whatever industry we a...

Tikkun - A Jewish Magazine, an Interfaith Movement Rabbi Lerner lays out an argument for why "Blind loyalty to Israel is the primary form of idolatry today in the Jewish world" in his recent blog post.

Go into any synagogue in the US or Israel and you can tell people that you don’t believe in God, don’t observe the commands of Torah, don’t observe the Sabbath, or even that you plan to be eating a pig sandwich on Yom Kippur and the majority of people will shrug their shoulders, and welcome you in. ...
