Gianmarco L'Accezione Altieri Hi guys ... I've got a question about this wonderful app: what's the difference between the "trial" version and the paid one ?

The trial version runs out in 14 days, other than that, no difference.

J.D. is correct. The trial version lets you evaluate the software without restrictions, but it will stop working after 14 days. You may also see a nag screen or two.

Armağan Amcalar

Armağan Amcalar I'm on MacOSX Snow Leopard, although I'm a huge fan of Times, it's really disappointing me on Snow Leopard. Check the screenshot for the problematic page peel effect. Plus, the loading indicator on the top right corner of the main window never reaches to 100%, so I can't check for new articles. Plus, real memory usage ...goes up to 1.4GB without even doing anything, so there is a big memory leakage too. I'm using Times 1.1.5, and am desperately waiting for an update :(

Sorry about that, we'll try and get this one fixed soon!

Yes, I would second that. Have been using Google Reader for years and there should be support for easier sync between them than having to manually download .OPML -file from Google Reader and then manually adding it to Times.

Also, Times could have some additional features (like faster feed updates via PubHubSub).

drew covi love Times, am I missing how to rearrange sources in each panel? it just won't let me drag one source above another in a given panel.

Christina McNeill

Christina McNeill Will there be an iPhone/iTouch app? Please, please, please? I love Times but now that I have iTouch, my laptop doesn't go with me everywhere. Don't make me go back to Netvibes or iGoogle.

Ditto Christine! I'd love to see an iPhone app too with syncing so that both apps would have the same feeds all the time whether added on the computer or an iPhone app.

David Times is great don't get me wrong. But it should be free with ads of course. Tweetie does it, Twitterific does it. Their install base is huge because of it. Don't like ads than grab a license. I don't mind ads if it is brought just the way Tweetie and Twitterific does it. I consider it a lost of opportunity if people u...ninstall my app because the trial period expires. 1) You lose contact with your users 2) An opportunity to persuade them in the future to try out new features that persuades them to eventually grab a license if they are hooked. Some apps just needs time to get accustomed to, especially one as innovating as this one. With a jungle of apps out their that does the same trick one way or another you can't afford not to.

I strongly disagree. Having ads in my feeds is quite enough.

Of course, it's entirely up to the preferred model of the developer.

Having ads in feeds is the last to worry about, it's not that it's slammed in your face the moment you execute Times. Not everyone is willing to pay for software if there are free alternatives.

Feeds are already free, why should a feed reader be any different. Times should consider it at least if they want to make a real impact with their app.

David The first thing I did was delete every standard feed it was bundled with. And slowly added my own. I'm a regular user of Google Reader, but I lost to much time trying to read everything while scrolling on a Mac with a big screen. A bad experience to read news I believe with exception to tumb scrolling on the iPhone. I ...needed something more efficient. I'm very curious how this program is going to evolve over time. My first impression was: "Finally something unique en different, hopefully this works, beats all that scrolling anyway."

Sorry about that, there was a bad build that went out for a few hours. Try re-downloading Times from our site and it should fix the problem.
