Todd Tiahrt Sen. Brownback and Sen. Roberts did the right thing for Kansas by voting against this health care bill. Now that the House and Senate bills are headed to conference, we must continue our fight against liberal efforts to fund abortions with tax dollars, cut billions of dollars out of Medicare for seniors, raise our taxe...s, send jobs to China, and control decisions that should be made by doctors and their patients.

Todd Tiahrt This is a time to step away from the day to day grind of modern life and spend time with the people who truly matter in our lives and to remember that a simple Carpenter had more impact on the fate of mankind than the most powerful politicians. My family and I would like to wish you and your family a very safe and Merry Christmas!

Todd Tiahrt America deserves better leadership than what we see coming from the administration and the Majority party in Washington. Instead of bailout plans that will export Kansas jobs overseas, we must stop the spending and start building our economy from the ground up using p...roven free-market principles to create high-quality, high-paying jobs!

Todd Tiahrt A bill that imposes $32 billion in permanent tax increases while 1 in 10 workers is looking for a job is a tax-increase scheme that could only have been devised by Speaker Pelosi and her Democrat cohorts. We need to permanently extend the Bush tax cuts. Imposing addit...ional long-term tax burdens on the American people is a plan for economic failure

Todd believes governement has grown too big, is taking too much from taxpayers and trying to do too much. That conviction guides him as he voted against the bailout even when his own party(even Senators McCain, Coburn, Thune, Burr!) was supporting it, voted against the stimulus, continues to try to repeal the stimulus and return the unspent $, ... See Morevoted no on cap and tax, voted no on govt run healthcare! Todd was a proud member of the 1994 republican revolution who led by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey balanced the budget and paid down the debt for several years in a row.

Todd Tiahrt We are furious that Democrats in Washington just voted to give the federal government a 25 percent pay increase compared with what was being spent just 15 months ago, What they should have done is reduce spending just like struggling families in Kansas have had to do during these very difficult economic times.

What the hell is wrong with this government? The country is in an economic tailspin & they decide to go on another spending spree! Like I've been saying, 2010 can't come fast enough.

Todd Tiahrt The Tiahrt amendment protects those who protect us by ensuring trace data remains fully accessible to law enforcement while keeping sensitive info. away from criminals terrorists & organizations that could jeopardize ongoing investigations or endanger officers’ lives. Had Mr. ... Dionne taken time to read the amendment he would have known what the law does.

Todd Tiahrt As we debate a much more intrusive and costlier nationalized healthcare plan, I am keenly aware of what is at stake. We should, and I will, rely on conservative principles in advancing fiscally responsible healthcare solutions.

Todd Tiahrt Until the president acknowledges that long-lasting economic recovery and job creation come from growing the economy from the ground up, we will continue to see a shortage of high-quality, high-paying jobs. We need to end the stimulus spending, remove artificial barriers that keep businesses from being competitive, and ...put in place incentives to spur immediate private-sector job creation!

Focusing on high-paying jobs is definitely not the way to go... Sure if you are creating high paying jobs you will benefit a few people but by creating more lower paying jobs you will be providing support to more families. Hire 2 people at 100k a year, or hire 6 people at 40k a year? The business will become more productive, in return providing them a higher income, and you will be supporting multiple families vs the 2 people that you will be helping by giving them a overly paid wage.

Todd Tiahrt Now is not the time to build moderate fiefdoms eager to make alliances with the party of Obama. Rather, we must restore the meaning of Republican to that identified by our party's first president: "government of the people."

Too bad the ideals of the Republican Party have changed from Lincoln's days. He may have the R next to his name in history, but would never have been accepted by modern day conservatives.

Todd Tiahrt Unfortunately, many opponents of the Tiahrt language, including Mayor Bloomberg, appear to be more interested in lawsuits against firearm manufacturers than about protecting law enforcement officers, the public, and privacy rights of law-abiding citizens who own firearms

Target shooting with my wife is one our favorite things to do together. Guns are works are art. Each is unique and the precision and care that go into the design and manufacturing of each one makes them a point of curiosity for me much like fine paintings are for an artist.

If a person is intent on harming someone else with a firearm there are ... See Morelaws against that already and that is a good thing. So why disarm the people who do not intend to harm others? Felons are not allowed to have or use guns either and that helps protect the innocent. How does disarming the law abiding good people make the general populace more safe? The laws are designed to take lethal power away from the "bad guys" and protect the "good guys". If we took power away from the good guys too wouldn't that be the same as making the bad guys more powerful in relation to us?

There are better ways of protecting citizens. There are cities that have systems that detect gunshots within city limits and triangulate the location much like the technology used to pinpoint earthquakes. When a shot is detected local police are instantly dispatched to the location. This protects citizens and still allows good people to keep their rights. These systems do not invade privacy and detect ONLY gunshots. It is my personal opinion that this is an effective and responsible way to deal with gun violence. I have also read that in the cities these have been installed in firearm related crime has dropped 50%. I do not know how much knife and other violent crime has been effected though. It stands to reason that if firearms are a sure way of getting caught criminals will resort to knives, bats, and the like.

Todd Tiahrt The use of soldiers' deaths and the attempt to deceitfully change public policy is a disgrace.Using the Ft Hood massacre to advance a devious ad campaign dishonors the freedoms our men and women in uniform have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect. Americans should be outraged and demand that each of these mayors be ...held accountable. Please join me in my fight to protect the Second Amendment! Click the link below!

Todd Tiahrt We must end the wasteful government intrusion into the private sector if we want to achieve true and lasting economic recovery. Borrowing money from taxpayers to grow the size of Washington has not worked in the past and is not working for us today.
