Tom Glynn is someone who’d rather let his music and lyrics speak for themselves in our world of overblown hype, which has helped him earn a reputation among other acclaimed musicians and the Boston music community at large as a songwriter’s songwriter. His new album Living Proof is indeed just that. Steve Morse of The Boston Globe calls Glynn “a pop tunesmith at the top of his game.” It’s also the reason why the title track on the new CD was recently voted “Best Rock Song” by listeners at Our Stage in an online competition among thousands of songs. Four of the songs on the disc have been added to XM Satellite Radio channel The Loft, along with airplay on 60 stations across the country so far.

Glynn’s melodic and pop sensibilities, combined with his confessional and truthful words, caught the ear of legendary promoter Don Law and songwriter Livingston Taylor when they were forming Blackstone Records. Glynn’s band at the time Big Dig was slated to be the first signing to the label before Law sold his business to Clear Channel. Nevertheless, Glynn’s songs went on to become an enormous hit with music supervisors, and his voice is heard regularly on every major television network including CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX.

A musician since the age of 10, Glynn plays all the instruments on the title track, except for the drums, and produced it as well. The other tracks on Living Proof feature his band performing live in the studio, proving once again why they have a reputation for putting on exceptional performances at clubs like The Living Room in New York City. With a mix of Wurlitzer piano, acoustic guitar, pedal steel, electric guitar, bass, drums & vocal harmonies - they deliver a truly unique, fresh sound that never fails to move and connect with the audience.

Glynn is also a winner of the first annual John Lennon Songwriting Contest and a nominee for “Outstanding Songwriter” at the Boston Music Awards.

The strength and accessibility of the songs on Living Proof have found a listening audience ranging from teenagers thirsting for great music to mature, appreciative adults -with styles ranging from alternative pop to mainstream rock to modern country.
