Sadly my friends the media today does not care how many people pass through the medical system everyday only those who had to wait the media isn't interested in the good news stories only those stories about doom and gloom and about destruction these are what they want the viewers to see that the world is a dangerous place and you should see our ... See Morechannel bring the doom to your tv. Any good news stories are carefully picked out so that the viewer doesn't completely stop watching the news but not enough to encourage the viewers to go out and do good deeds! There are some politcians who are not completely useless but have been pressured by the economic powers to be to "nickel and dime" the majority of the people and give the powers there cake and the ability to eat it too. The CCF showed us that we can stand up to evil and win! They showed us that with a social democratic program resources could be harnessed to make people lives better without going into deficits and debt!

If you ever have the chance to get a National Film Board film entitled "Prairie Women", my Gram was one of the 5 women profiled in it. It's a very enlightening film. I can't remember ever paying out of pocket for medical services at a hospital. On the other hand, without really good PRIVATE extended health benefits, my very handicapped husband with very high medical bills would be very broke or very unhealthy. Bottom line, my friend: we don't really have all-encompassing medical benefits yet. We still need private extended health benefits.
