The average British household uses 21 batteries a year. As a nation, we throw away more than 600m every year — that’s getting on for almost 20,000 tons of them, almost all of which finish up in landfill sites.

Imagine if FoE emailed supporters asking them to be your friend on Facebook ... that should be an easy thing to do e.g. "See what the ex boss of FoE UK is up to and be his friend - here".

Green Party dress up for ‘green jobs’

Tony Juniper, Green Party Parliamentary candidate for Cambridge, will lead a group of 50 Young Greens - many dressed in lab coats, hard hats, and utility belts - calling for greater action on green jobs.

The action takes place on Saturday, 24 October, between 1.00pm-2.00pm, on King’...s Parade, in front of King’s College, Cambridge.

The Young Greens, who will be in Cambridge for their National Convention, are calling on the government for investment in ‘green jobs’.

Their action on Saturday is scheduled as part of the 350 International Day of Climate Action.

“As part of our National Convention, the Young Greens of England & Wales will be calling for greater investment in jobs for the future to keep carbon dioxide levels below 350 parts per million.” –Andrew Birkby, Young Greens’ co-chair.

The Green Party will be joined on King’s Parade by Cambridge climate groups uniting for the 350 International Day of Climate Action.
