How could you take away a seniors licence because she was hospitalized. Yes she was drinking but she was not driving. She has lost her pride, her freedom. The only thing she was proud of passing her driver's licence test again. She has a clean record, no even as much as a parking ticket and you have taken her life away.... How can you do this to a senior? Why don't you suspend those teenagers that race all night long on my street? I cannot believe you don't look after your seniors. You treat them like dirt. I am totally appalled at this system.Read More

I am being patient and don't mean to imply that my complaint hasn't been looked at. Someone has contacted me from your office but my concern is that the complaint can't be dealt with because it seems the ministry can tell the ombudsman no more than they have told me. I'm just not sure what can be done given the systemic issues unless they are ... A few questions:
1. is there anything uncommon-unknown about the Ombudsman's offices' jurisdiction over the Child and Family Services Review Board which one who is considering an appeal to your office of a CFSRB decision might benefit from knowing prior to registering the appeal?
2. has your office been asked to assume j...urisdiction over the CFSRB ever previously?
3. was that (requested) action published anywhere?
4. if it wasn't published are you able to provide a synopsis minus identifying info?
Thank you

Thank you for the informative, helpful and detailed answers.
Again I'm imposing but did any of those 10 decisions involve an applicant appealing to your office re: their request to have overturned a CFSRB decision to not assume jurisdiction...
(=agree with a CAS Motion that the CFSRB doesn't have jurisdiction re: a specified case)
...and hear a complaint-order an Oral hearing against a
CAS?... Read More
Please provide any details you may.

Marissa I wonder if the Ombudsman will investigate the provincial Second Career Initiative that continued to take applications without the funds to cover it but didn't tell the applicants? Now thousands in Ontario are left in limbo while their EI runs out.

I am one of those people who has been deemed as a disposable commodity the day they told me I was only allowed one more unit of Avastin. You work all your life for your country and they give you 32 weeks of treatment in return. In McGuinty's reign they have removed over 200 drugs that were previously covered. I am a self appointed advocate for the ... Read MoreAvastin affair and I swear I will fight this till my last breath. I am one of those who is flourishing on the drug. Thank God for private insurance that will cover me. I went to Toronto three weeks ago to Queens Park to participate in the Ombudsman's reply to the media. He really impressed me and his case workers were terrific. Anyone in Ontario who thinks we have a wonderful health system, please don't get sick..
