Was wondering what to leave you with for the weekend, and found this great footage of some pretty amazing Irish dancing http://tinyurl.com/yl873kg ...Of course, if your ancestors happen to come from Ireland (http://tinyurl.com/yz27ln4) you never know what type of dancing skills have been passed down through the genes, ...so maybe you could give some of these moves a try - or not! What can I say, just watch in wonder and enjoy the weekend!Read More

Morning all! Beautiful day here! Evenings are for snuggling up in front of a good movie, and the fantastic Foyle Film Festival (20-28 Nov) is the perfect place to do just that! But it also got me thinking about some of the all-time greats that have been filmed in Ireland - Saving Private Ryan, The Quiet Man, Ryan's Dau...ghter, Braveheart...but there's another little gem you may like. It's called The Matchmaker and takes in the magic of the Connemara landscapes and the wild Atlantic Ocean! If you've never seen it, here's a trailer just for you...http://tinyurl.com/c3zcu7Read More

Tourism Ireland Hi all! A bit of a wet day here, but no worries - plenty to do under cover in Ireland as we're well used to unpredictable weather! Mind you, I know some people (and they're over 8 years old), who adore the rain. It gives them prime opportunity to grab the mountain bike and splash around the local hills! Would you fancy that, or would you prefer to meet them in the pub afterwards...?

Tourism Ireland Hi there - you've got my mouth watering now, with all this talk of oysters and Irish stew. Good, hearty comfort food for Autumn in Ireland, that's for sure! What's your favourite food from around the island of Ireland - and if you've loved an eating out experience in Ireland, then tell us about that, too!

Morning! Still on our favourite activities topic! This weekend is huge for Ireland, with soccer fans heading to Croke Park on Saturday for a World Cup play-off against France...then on Sunday, rugby union fans will converge on the same spot to watch Ireland and Australia battle it out! Even if you're not into either sp...ort, it's the atmosphere that's something really special! Will you be watching from where you are?Read More

Hi Tara! Football (soccer) kicks off at 8pm Saturday, and the Rugby at 3pm GMT on Sunday. You'll find a huge variety of pubs to choose from at www.irishpubs.com, and also www.dublinpubscene.com. Follow the crowds, mingle, sit back and enjoy. Don't forget to let us know how you get on. That goes for you all out there, we would love your feedback on the games, and where you watched them.

Yes, the evenings are getting darker and everyone's layering up on clothes! I adore this time of year in Ireland, and I love your ideas on favourite participant sports in Ireland, thank you - even if sitting fireside isn't quite the 'activity' I was thinking of at first! Mind you, now that you mention it, a steaming ho...t bowl of stew, a pint and traditional music sounds like a cracking idea...keep those ideas coming!Read More

Morning all! Another beautiful sunny day here! Doing a quick poll to see what your favourite outdoor activity in Ireland would be: a round of golf on an Irish links course; a brisk hike up the mountains of Mourne; or a canter along Kerry's Inch strand on a fine steed? All three? Or something else? Would love to hear wh...at your favourite participant sport would be in Ireland? To get you thinking, thought this video may help!Read More

We enjoyed a meal and a couple pints at Jim Edwards in Kinsale when we were there in December 2007. It has a bar, restaurant and accommodation, tho we didn't stay there (we stayed at Dooneen House B&B, which was great). Tourism Ireland It's that Friday feeling! Sun breaking through the clouds and the weekend is beckoning! Taking a hike up the Sugar Loaf in Wicklow (weather permitting). And if we're stopped in our tracks, then we'll just have to go undercover for lunch in Powerscourt Gardens! Anyone got any plans for the weekend? Coming to Ireland, maybe?

Morning all! A cracking day today. I know it's only November, but with emails flying in from across the globe and friends confirming they'll be descending upon us for Christmas, I thought I'd tell you about one of our traditional seasonal outings! Great craic, the Christmas horse racing festivals are definitely a must-...do! As I just pick my winners by the colour of the jersey (!), thought I should let the experts tell you how horse racing all began in Ireland! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7j3rJ75CRkRead More
