Tracey Clarke Fellow Artomatic artist Tammy Vitale is interviewing select artist from this year's show. Here is my interview.

The Guide by Tracey Clarke Tracey's work hangs with stories posted by each. The work is haunting and mystical even without the mythology she weaves around them (which is good since I don't have the stories to share with you)....

"Pen" goes to her new home in the morning, so I am preparing her to go today.... The infamous baboon painting that some of you have agonized over with me hangs in my bedroom incomplete. I believe in this painting, and have been waiting for the right time to go back to him...

Tracey Clarke "Meet the Artist Night" at Artomatic is this Saturday night. I will be there from 6 PM on. The Nationals are OOT, so $6 parking in the garage or take metro....contact me if you need more info! 703-209-5171

One of the most rewarding aspects of Artomatic for both the participants and the public is the chance to meet face-to-face. And there’s no better time to do it than at Meet The Artists Night. This year we have over 1,000 visual artists exhibiting their work.

There was a fantastic turnout for the opening night of Artomatic. As an artist, my job is rather solitary, so having an event like this is the perfect place to connect with other artists and talk shop. Our friends Chris and Ryan came down, as well...

Artomatic has taken all of my energy this month. We installed on Friday and open on the 29th. If you'd like to go, you can find all the info here, or contact me for details.

Craig and I spent all day Saturday down at M Street working on the Artomatic space. Two coats of primer, two coats of "Vulcan Gray." In two weeks we install lights, artwork and lettering. This is a really neat part of D.C...

I am spending all day looking at my reference photo collection and going over any ideas with some solidity. I was offered an exhibit overlapping one already scheduled, so I am really feeling the crush! I have a lot to do but a well of great ideas, and this IS my day job, so I can swing it, right...

I had a meeting with the wonderful Twig Murray from the NVFAA today. She came all the way out to me to have a second look at my work and, hopefully, convince her colleagues to put together a show of the work. It is such a blessing to see her enthusiasm for art and for my art in particular...

I feel really focused today and very pleased with the way this painting is coming together. I am having a hard time moving on the another one. I usually rotate paintings on the easel because I get a little tired, even bored. I have maintained a huge amount of momentum on this one...

In the night, I often think about paintings I am working on. Paintings unfold, like turning the pages of a book. I was chewing on the swallow painting in progress. It was revealed that her name is Nee. She dies during the Spring Revolt and the scene is that of her death...

Ummmm....a plot for a wonderful story.
Kathleen at 8:05pm April 7
Wow, your description of the painting makes it so profound.

I am not sure where this is going yet, but it is going. It will be a scene from the Spring Revolt. I am doubting my aforementioned distorted background...it isn't going anywhere. So I focused exclusively on this today...
