Lavon Calzacorta has a pretty special dog. Tess, his border collie, recently finished fourth in a national sheep-dog competition. She's also Idaho's state champion and finished first in this month's Trailing of the Sheep trials in Hailey.

Jo Murray Sheepdog Tess, ranked No. 1 in Northwest and No. 4 in nation, is scheduled to run Saturday at 2 p.m; her younger "brother" Gus at 4 p.m. Times could vary as much as an hour. Her sponsors will conduct dog nutrition classes throughout both Saturday and Sunday. Free samples.
