Trish Downing, Athlete and Inspirational Speaker Did my third and final triathlon of the season today. One more race to go next weekend and it's goodbye summer of 2009!

Lisa Casalegno Trish has an amazing ability to persevere and inspire others. I couldn't say no when Trish asked me to join her in Kona in 2001 and thanks to her, I am still running 8 years later.

Naomi You are my inspiration. I would love to get the chance to meet you someday. I was in a road biking accident last summer with a DHL delivery truck that turned in front of me. After reading your website, it gives me hope that I will someday be able to ride my bike again...maybe even on the road.

Trish Downing’s heart is so strong, it just might break yours. It needs to be for her to achieve what she has the past couple of years: becoming the first female paraplegic to complete an Iron distance triathlon and only the second to qualify for Hawaii’s Ironman Wor...ld Championship. “I just put one foot in front of the other, figuratively speaking,” Downing says modestly. But there’s more to her story than that.
