Troika Ranch First Friday at Parrish Studios was Awesome! Big thanks to all who came out and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
Troika Ranch
Troika Ranch will make an exciting, one-time appearance at the Parrish Studios as part of Lincoln's citywide First Friday events on October 2nd, 2009. The appearance coordinates with the world premiere of Troika Ranch's new evening length performance loopdiver at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on October 15 and 16..., 2009.
Troika Ranch is raiding First Friday with impromptu performances that will be performed at random between 8:30PM and 10PM.

Joining the events on First Friday will be a showing of work by UNL faculty and students in one of the Parrish Studio Galleries, featuring artworks created as part of a special course on "The Resonance of Violence,", co-taught at the university last spring by Troika Ranch Artistic Co-Director Mark Coniglio and three members of the UNL Women's and Gender Studies Department, Karen Lyons, Marie-Chantal Kalisa, and Tamy Burnett. There will be visual artworks created during the Community Collaborative Academy Arts Course, led by Ben Jones at the Clyde Malone Community Center. Finally, and also in relation to the class, there will be a showing of t-shirts created by clients of Voices of Hope, a center in Lincoln that provides advocacy and prevention services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. These t-shirts powerfully express the positive growth and empowerment these victims have shared as an outcome of support groups and services received at the center.
Support for Troika Ranch comes from The Project Room at Parrish Studios who helped to organize the event, and Roundus.com, who have supplied the gallery space in which the physical artworks will be shown.

Troika Ranch This is an opportunity to meet the entire company and propose any questions you may have about loopdiver and the kind of work we do. In addition to meeting the company we will be showing a documentary made about the process of loopdiver and meeting some of the film makers too.

Troika Ranch An evening length dance theater piece that portrays an encounter with violence, and the attempts of its characters to escape from the resulting prisons of repetition. There is only one way out: they must dive into their psyche to destroy the loop, leaving them again in balance, but also forever changed.
