Robert O'Connor Question:

I have already enrolled in the HVCC Class of 2011. I signed up for College Algebra and Trig. I then looked at the SUNY Albany general education requirements and they made it sound like a math class at pre-calculus level or above was needed in order to meet their requirements. Does College Algebra and Trig meet that requirement? It sounds like it doesnt but i want to be sure before I switch to a harder math class that can be transferred for credits I will actually need at UAlbany.
Please help if anyone can.

Here's the response from the Math Department:
You should check with UAlbany as well as us, but if you need a math class at the level of precalc or above, MATH 150 is not appropriate. MATH 160 should be the class.

Part time TAP applications will be available mid-July and may be printed from http://www.hvcc.edu/financialaid/forms or may be picked up in the Financial Aid Office.

The application and NYS tax forms, if applicable, will be due back in the Financial Aid Office on Friday, September 11, 2009.... Read More

FYI, a student submitting this application in the fall may use it for both fall and spring enrollment periods. For students applying for Spring 2010 only, the application will be due Friday, January 29,2010. (the end of the second week of class).
