Randy’s Truck Driving School - Day 10
A week and a half into training and the fast pace continues. They are out driving more, which is great, but the quizzes and the pressure of their CDL training remains a constant.

Tim Burchfield Anyone drive for Werner?

Tim Burchfield

Tim Burchfield Got a call from Werner, wants me for a team driver, six weeks out one week home, can anyone elaborate on what I would be getting into with Werner as a student driver? Please IM or Email me, thanks

You're going to find that a truck gets VERY small with two drivers in it!

I was just thinking the same thing as Becky. Six weeks out is a LONG, LONG time when you're with someone. However, team drivers do tend to make a good bit of money (typically teams split $0.50 per mile, which doesn't sound all that great until you realize you're on the road about 1,200 miles per day).

I was the same way, applied to Werner, got a call in two days, I am ready for orientation, but really hate the thought of being gone six weeks at a time, but I need the job so it is bittersweet.

A recent announcement by the FMCSA shows that there will be even greater scrutiny for truck drivers and trucking companies coming very soon.

Sometimes You Face Difficult Driving Challenges In Trucking
Sometimes you have these days and nights of skill testing if you drive a semi. I did not have a leisurely drive to Fort Smith as I normally do. I couldn't just relax, enjoy the drive, and drink my coffee. This was not meant to be. I had to work to stay safe and... keep others safe too on this trip.

Randy’s Truck Driving School - Day 5
Oh, I can't believe my husband's been gone less than a week, it feels like a month! Usually time goes by so quickly but now it's just dragging, even though I've been ridiculously busy. His CDL training has been fast-paced and tough.

The world of trucking is so wide open and ready to hire those that have good records and good work habits with a customer service joint effort to meet or exceed the customers desires. Want to be a gasoline truck driver? training is free and checking it out can't hurt. Even if relocation is in question www.coastaltransport.com
