Fight Crew Plot Their Assault On The Sirens; Tickets On Sale Now For Saturday, October 24 Event
LOS ANGELES – The L.A. Derby Dolls (www.derbydolls.com/la), Southern California’s premiere all-female, banked track roller derby league, are still... spinning from the release of Drew Barrymore’s love letter to roller derby, WHIP IT. Two of the league’s most experienced teams – the bulletproof Sirens vs. a fearless Fight Crew – promise a tremendous bout on Sat., Oct. 24 at the Doll Factory (1910 Temple Street, Los Angeles CA 90026). These veteran skaters will demonstrate why roller derby has become the fastest growing women’s sport in the country.
It’s been a rough season for the Fight Crew, who go into their final game of 2009 with an 0-4 record. The Crew is determined to skate away with a win, taking some cops along for the ride. The red and black attack is led by Captain Janis Choplin and Co-Captain Haught Wheels. Expect stalwarts Tara Armov, Trixie Biscuit and Broadzilla to take their opponents to the rail and make ‘em squeal.
The Sirens are 1-2 for the season and no doubt want to remind long-time rivals, the Fight Crew, which team calls the shots inside the Doll Factory. Captain Amber Alert! and Co-Captain Roxy Cotton will lead the raid alongside fan favorites P.I.T.A., Killo Kitty and Paris Kilton.
If you’ve seen FOX Searchlight’s WHIPT IT and are ready for real roller derby action, this is your chance. The Doll Factory is the only place to witness this fantastic sport on a banked track in California – and the venue where Drew Barrymore watched her first-ever derby bout.

L.A. DERBY DOLLS HOSTS BACK TO SCHOOL BATTLE IN ALL-GIRL BANKED TRACK ROLLER DERBY ACTION AUGUST 29
The nationally renowned L.A. Derby Dolls (www.derbydolls. com/la), Southern California’s premiere all-female, banked track roller derby league, terminate their summer hiatus on Saturday, August 29 with a sure-to-be brutal... brawl between the Fight Crew and the rookie team, the Varsity Brawlers.
The Fight Crew, stocked with bloodthirsty vets like Captains Janis Choplin and Haught Wheels, have received a kick in the hotpants with a renewed vigor this season but still have not chalked up a much-needed victory. The aggressive ladies in red and black, notorious for the hardest hits in the league, suffered two heartbreaking losses, one in double overtime, and would like nothing more than to educate the upstart Varsity Brawlers.
Led by Captains Long Island Lolita and Razorslut, the Varsity Brawlers stunned nearly 2,000 fans when they kept the Sirens in hot pursuit their entire April bout (in the end, devastatingly losing by 6 points in the last jam of the game). The Brawlers are looking to continue to earn respect with a win and prove that the students are now the teachers.
Whichever team wins this match will earn their first victory of the season, and the biggest winners will be the lucky fans in attendance. The hits will be that much harder, the speeds that much faster, and there will be blood on the banked track.
High-energy band the Shakers (myspace.com/ ilovetheshakers) will perform at halftime, with former Fight Crew star jammer Crystal Deth supplying the tunes. Derby Dolls events offer a full range of entertainment off the track, with the Vendor Village, featuring art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza and Hot Dog on a Stick, and beer from Tecate and Alex’s Bar.
Tickets are now available to purchase at http://www.derbydolls.com/la. We WILL sell out so buy your tickets now and save money and heartache!

About the L.A. Derby Dolls:
Founded in 2003, the L.A. Derby Dolls (www.derbydolls.com/la) are Southern California’s premiere all-female, banked-track, quad-skating, roller derby league. Within the league, five fierce teams battle for dominance: The Fight Crew, The Sirens, The Tough Cookies, The Varsity Brawlers and The Swarm. While their uniforms may be stylish and their names playful, do not be fooled by appearances – the L.A. Derby Dolls are athletes who skate a sport that is unscripted and real. Honored as a Treasure of L.A. by the Central City Association, the L.A. Derby Dolls embody the do-it-yourself, “for the skaters, by the skaters” ethos of modern women’s roller derby.Read More

L.A. DERBY DOLLS HOSTS TWO BOUTS IN ONE DAY OF ALL-GIRL BANKED TRACK ROLLER DERBY ACTION ON JUNE 27
The Aftershockers, LADD’s B-Team, Shake Up The Track PLUS LADD’s Future Stars Battle In Rare All-Ages Baby Doll Brawl; Tickets On Sale Now For Sat., June 27 Event
Greed is good! The thrilling, thunderous L.A. Derby Dolls (LADD) blaze through the June gloom with TWO bouts in one glorious day on Sat., June 27 at the Doll Factory (1910 W. Temple St., Los Angeles 90026).
The day explodes at 3 p.m. with an exciting exhibition of LADD’s newest skaters, called the Baby Doll Brawl. Featuring the latest, greatest rookie skaters, Baby Doll Brawls are known for two things: Being an all-ages bout (so all derby fans, ages one to 99, will get a taste) and featuring some of the most spectacular, cringe-inducing hits and spills. The rookies are hungry to prove themselves as future Derby Doll stars and they play it like they mean it. Expect this patriotic crop of Baby Dolls to bleed red, white and blue when the Scars and Stripes faces off against the Meteorfights.
After you’ve gotten your appetite whet, drop the kids off at home and stay for our 21+ ONLY bout, when LADD’s B-Team, the Aftershockers, debut against the Prom Queens, a random mix of SoCal flat track skaters who live for tiaras and roller derby. Featuring beauty and brawn from the likes of Cherrylicious and VaVaVaGina from Angel City Derby Girls (ACDG), and captained by the infamous Scarlene, the Prom Queens are eager to relive their high school experience and bully the Aftershockers.
The Aftershockers’ captain Killo Kitty (Sirens) and co-captain Tara “The Notorious” Armov (Fight Crew) will lead Long Island Lolita, Suzy Snakeyes and fan favorites from all four of the LADD teams (Sirens, Tough Cookies, Varsity Brawlers and Fight Crew) in an earth-shattering rumble against their cross-town rivals.
Doors for the Aftershockers vs. Prom Queens bout opens at 6 p.m. Like all regular LADD events, this bout is strictly 21+.

Junior Derby Dolls, the first and only banked track junior derby league for girls ages 8-17 in SoCal, who will scrimmage and show you how cool you could have been when you were a kid.
