African music orchestrated for symphony : Invited to play with the Jazz Sinfônica from São Paulo (Brazil), the Congolese pianist - composer RAY LEMA had 13 of his works specially arranged and orchestrated. Born in Congo (DRC) and now based in France (Paris)... , Ray Lema is internationally known for his beautiful melodies and his mastery of African polyrhythm. His engagement with João Maurico Galindo, conductor and artistic director of the Jazz Sinfônica from São Paulo, resulted in this African repertoire being adapted and scored for orchestra, which paves the way for other orchestras to perform this body of work.
LEMA and GALINDO are now looking for new collaborations with symphony orchestras internationally.
