Tulsa Performing Arts Center In this drama, written by Rebecca Gilman, Theresa Bedell is a successful reporter in New York who loves her work and the life she has made for herself. A relationship with a man would complete the picture, and so she agrees to go on a blind date with a friend of a friend.

Tony is attractive and funny, but Theresa isn't ...sure, and after a second date she's convinced they have nothing in common and sees no point in continuing the relationship. Tony, though, thinks otherwise. What at first seems like persistence on his part grows into obsession, and Theresa's annoyance with Tony turns to terror as he begins to threaten her and those around her. Ultimately, Theresa must fight to save herself from being erased by Tony's actions—actions which call into question the assumptions at the very heart of romantic pursuit.

Tulsa Performing Arts Center Maestro David Lockington, music director of the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, returns to conduct a concert of music from or inspired by Italy.

Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 1 is based on Renaissance lute pieces by Simone Molinaro, Vincenzo Galilei and additional anonymous composers.

Lise Glaser will be ...featured in Marcello’s Oboe Concerto. Bach attested to the worth of Marcello’s best-known work by transcribing it for harpsichord.

Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 “Italian” was inspired by his tour of Europe. He wrote this from Rome to his sister Fanny: “The ‘Italian’ symphony is making great progress. It will be the jolliest piece I have ever done, especially the last movement. I have not found anything for the slow movement yet, and I think that I will save that for Naples.”

Tulsa Performing Arts Center SIDE SHOW is the story of a pair of conjoined twins who leave the circus sideshow business for a vaudeville career. This musical, which was nominated for four Tony Awards, tells of the women’s search for survival and love through both the high and low points in their careers.

Based on real-life twins Violet and Daisy Hi...lton, best known for their appearance in Tod Browning’s disturbing cult movie Freaks (1932) SIDE SHOW is “a fascinating mix of old-fashioned Broadway and a sharp, contemporary sensibility,” says Vincent Canby of The New York Times.

Henry Krieger, composer of Dreamgirls, wrote the music for Side Show, and Bill Russell wrote the book and lyrics.
