Tulsa Symphony THANK YOU to the John Steele Zink Foundation for their gift of $45,000 to the Tulsa Symphony! What a great legacy to the memory of Jacqueline Zink, who was a tireless advocate of the arts, and especially first-class symphonic music, in Tulsa.

Tulsa Symphony Join us at 7:30 in the First Baptist Church in downtown Tulsa for this stirring 1836 oratorio based on Paul's conversion. Members of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra will accompany the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus. Dr. Tim Sharp, TOC's new artistic director, will be on the podium. Soloists will be Jennifer Cooper, sorpano, Sara Arnold, alto, Stan Warren, tenor, Sean Cooper, bass-baritone and Stephen Town, bass.

Tulsa Symphony Following a commentary on the architecture by Shari Goodwin, Director of Communications for Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Tulsa Symphony Chamber Places will perform Facade-An Entertainment by William Walton and the Octet for Wind Instruments by Igor Stravinsky.
One of the finest examples of ecclesiastical Art Deco architecture in the United States.

Tulsa Symphony Following a commentary on the architecture, Tulsa Symphony Chamber Players will perform the Divertissement by Jacques Ibert, various ragtime selections and Creation of the World by Darius Milhaud. This concert will be performed in the historic Crystal Ballroom of the newly reopened Mayo Hotel.

Tulsa Symphony Join us for a wine and cheese reception to open the Great Images Art Deco Exhibit in the Performing Arts Center Gallery. Enjoy the artistry of Tulsa photographers David Halpern and Ralph Cole, along with exhibit curator Teresa Valero of the University of Tulsa School of Art. The TSO Woodwind Trio will provide music for the evening.

Tulsa Symphony Orchestra will present the third concert of its 2009-2010 season, “Hear the World with Tulsa Symphony Orchestra,” featuring music of America. The concert will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, 7:30p.m., in Chapman Music Hall of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center (PAC). The concert features the orch...estra under the baton of Maestro Ron Spigelman as he leads the orchestra through music of Gershwin, Ellington and Rodgers. Tulsa Symphony In November, TSO will be mixing music making with Tulsa's renowned architecture. There will be chamber concerts at two Tulsa treasures: Boston Avenue United Methodist Church and the Mayo Hotel, and to open a new exhibit of images of Tulsa's famed art deco by critically acclaimed Tulsa photographer David Halpern at the PAC Gallery.

TSO's principal oboist, Lise Glaser, was interviewed by Tulsa World writer James Watts. Lise will step in front of the orchestra tonight as soloist in the Marcello Oboe Concerto. The orchestra will also perform Rossini's Overture to the Italian Girl in Algiers, Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 1 and Mende...lssohn's Symphony No. 4, "Italian." David Lockington's on the podium tonight. The concert starts at 7:30pm and will be held in Chapman Music Hall of the Tulsa Performing Arts Centers.
