American Family Association Great news! The U.S. House of Representatives passed an amendment to the health care bill that would prohibit taxpayer funding of most abortions in both public and private insurance policies. The bipartisan vote passed 240-194. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, a supporter of abortion rights, allowed the vote after it became evident the larger health care bill would be defeated without the amendment. Praise God!

American Family Association Personhood USA is a grassroots organization whose purpose is to secure amendment of all 50 state constitutions to grant unborn human beings the status of “persons.” The constitutional amendments would attack Roe v. Wade’s holding that unborn humans are not “persons” and, therefore, not entitled to constitutional protection of the right to life. I say this is an exciting and worthwhile effort. What do you say?
American Family Association Warning! Facebook appears to be tracking much of what we do. According to a lawsuit, Facebook’s “Beacon” system tracks member activity across the Internet and reports it back. Its claimed purpose is to allow members to share info with their friends and assist advertisers. But the system continues to track even if the member opts out. If Facebook is tracking us, imagine what the government is doing. Scary!

Good news! With 87% of the vote counted, it appears that Maine voters, by a margin of 53%-47%, have rejected a law that would have permitted so-called homosexual marriage. Maine joins the voters of 30 other states that have rejected same-sex "marriage." American Family Association Great news! The former director of Bryan, TX Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson, resigned after seeing an ultrasound of an actual abortion. Commenting on her resignation, she said, "I feel so pure in heart. I don't have this guilt, I don't have this burden on me anymore." She has since joined Coalition for Life and PRAYS at the same abortion clinic she formerly directed. Praise God!
American Family Association On Saturday Jason Harper and Craig Gross passed out cards saying “I’m sorry” at the Atlanta Pride Festival. The apology was for the way certain “religious” people treat homosexuals, e.g., Westboro Baptist Church, which displays signs claiming “God Hates F_gs.” Harper and Gross do not affirm homosexual conduct but neither do they condemn anyone. I say this is a creative way to share the gospel. What do you say?

A few days ago we reported on the battle in the 23rd Congressional District in New York pitting pro-family Conservative Party candidate Dan Hoffman against a Republican Party-backed liberal. Finding herself way behind in the polls, the Repubilcan-backed liberal has suspended her campaign and Republican Party bosses now support Hoffman. Sounds like politicians are finally listening to the people!
American Family Association 40 Days for Life will end Sunday. It has been documented that 2,000 babies have been SAVED from abortion since the campaign began in 2004. 2,000 children could fill 100 classrooms or field 229 little league baseball teams. According to organizers, the sight of people peacefully standing in prayer often is enough to convince a woman to reject abortion. God bless those who stand up for the most vulnerable among us!
