Freshman engineering students have been hard at work designing working lights to enhance a few areas on The University of Alabama campus. They will present their projects Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in 240 H.M. Comer Hall.

Festivities begin three hours before kickoff. Bring a lawn chair and make plans to stay a while. We’ll have balloons and face tattoos for kids and a big screen TV so you won’t miss any of the gridiron action.

The University of Alabama College of Engineering will host Engineering Day (E-Day), an open house for high school students and their families, on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
E-Day gives prospective students a closer look at the College of Engineering, according to Dr. Kevin Whitaker, associate dean of aca...demic programs, and participants will receive a realistic view of how engineering skills are used in everyday life. All interested students, counselors, teachers and parents are invited to attend.
Laboratory tours and exhibits will be offered in aerospace engineering and mechanics; chemical and biological engineering; civil, construction and environmental engineering; computer science; electrical and computer engineering; mechanical engineering; and metallurgical and materials engineering. Engineering students and faculty will be available to answer questions throughout the day.
Information also will be provided on college preparation, housing, scholarships, financial aid, admissions, and honors programs.
