Three weeks until the first week of camp! I know that I can speak on behalf of the Shores team in saying how eager and excited we are for the summer fun to begin...

This post and especially the bible verse from 1 Corinthians literally get my heart pumping in anticipation for the next 3 months! When I started looking at the summer Bible studies, all I could think about was how God is going to change lives through those words on those pages. How exciting is it that we serve a God that can do that and in an ... Read Moreamount that we can't even image possible? Really exciting!
Thanks for the encouraging words. I needed to be reminded that I can accomplish NOTHING on my own this summer but anything through Him. See you SOON!

But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?" – Gen. 2:9 Genesis 2 tells the story of man’s first sin. Adam and Eve have their first tastes of disobedience, distrust, shame and guilt. God comes around after the fact and asks what sounds like an irrelevant, even dumb question...

I know that something I struggle with is being a perfectionist. But in reality, it is not actual perfection that I want, but MY version of it. I want what I think “perfect” is. Even though we might all have our version of perfection, I think we all truly desire true perfection...

Do me a favor… Grab your Bible and turn to 1 Chronicles 17. I know… you’re probably like “1 Chronicles, really, is he serious?” YES, I am serious. Don’t worry its good… Okay, 1 Chronicles 17:1-15...

My daughter is going to Pine Cove week 3 for the first time and I want you to know that this passage is so meaningful to me in my life right now. Thanks for sharing this and I am so excited about her going in a week! You are doing GREAT THINGS already!

I want to relate to you a scene that has stuck with me the past few weeks. I recently saw a movie about the life of John Adams based on a book by David McCullough. John Adams was very old. In fact, this was probably just a few months before he died...

Alright...so March Madness is on, and if you are like me you have at least 3 or 4 brackets filled out for the NCAA Basketball Tournament (trying to win at least one), and you are hoping all the teams you picked will win…GO UNC!...

Well, friends, March is in full swing. In fact, I believe as of next week, we can officially call the season what it is- Spring! What a redemptive and refreshing time of the year...

Well, here it is: my thoughts on ‘The Bachelor.’ It’s true, I watched it over the past few weeks, and wow, what a mess!...

School, friends, work, church, family, sports, bible, homework, money, relationships….BUSINESS!! Are we not all a busy people...

As you read last week, “Mr. Cents” came down with the dreaded stomach bug. And, let me tell you, he was not the only one. Clint’s wife Melissa and Pat, or “Michelangelo,” came down with it the same weekend, all of whom I had spent the majority of my time with over the previous few days...

Last week I got really sick. The “I hate my life” kind of sick. The worst part was the fever. Cold sweats, tiredness, aching all over…ugh! All I wanted was a magic pill to make the fever go away. Tylenol PM over-promised... and under-delivered...

Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that we are going to be posting some new blogs this spring written by some new people! They will be not only from me, but from our very own Shores full time staff...

The other night, my wife and I went to see the new movie “Taken”. I have to say, although it was good, it was very hard to watch. I think mainly because it portrayed a very dark side of human nature: sin...

Well put! It's our responsibility as Christians to show the world a better way of living through God's love. The blame is on us - not God - for allowing sin to rampantly increase without even putting up a fight. What a great challenge this is to start reaching out and introducing Christ's love into a world that is so desperately lost!
