UCCE Master Gardeners of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties This sunny day is a good time to plant sweet peas. They grow easily from seed, planted from now until January. Soak the seeds in water overnight to speed sprouting, then plant them near a trellis or fence. In the spring, you'll have lovely fragrant bouquets!

Megan Speckmann I'm working on a class project where we plan to plant a butterfly garden in relatively large containers at a school. Full sun and in San Francisco. Any plant recommendations? Natives? Thanks!
