UPROAR! Join UPROAR! this weekend as we take part in the Hazelwood power station protest in Victoria this weekend. Climate change has reached the point of emergency and is such a huge threat to the wonderful animals we share the planet with. Unless things change soon so many animals - and people - will lose their lives to fire, drought, flooding, starvation and habitat loss.

UPROAR! Broiler breeders are the parents of chickens who are raised for their flesh. They remain confined and overcrowded in massive dark sheds for over a year, then are killed as they begin to lay fewer eggs.

Broiler breeder mother hens are repeatedly raped by the roosters, then after about 6 months the roosters are killed an...d a new, young and aggressive batch are introduced, to maximise the hens egg production levels.

The birds literally live in their own excrement, as the sheds are only cleaned out after they are slaughtered. Their feces pile so high that the sheds resemble a lunar landscape, and the ammonia is so strong that the rescuers get a severe sore throat and stinging eyes after only an hour in the shed.

Broiler breeders are not only the parents of today's KFC, Red Rooster and Macca's chicken meals but also organic and free-range chicken meat. There really is no such thing as 'humane' or 'free range' meat. The only way to end this cruelty is to stop eating animals and products derived from them. Go Vegan!

UPROAR! On Saturday, four UPROAR members competed in an IPF (International Powerlifting Federation) competition. It was a successful day where ignorant opinions about veganism such as 'you can’t be strong without eating meat and other animal products' were put to shame.

Joel, Andrew and Noah won their weight categories and Pat ...came second in his. Noah also took home the 'best lifter'' trophy squatting 200kg, bench pressing 170kg and deadlifting 230kg.

Apologies for the delay in the replies. I must also mention we are a very small volunteer-based group located in Melbourne and unfortunately we can't extend our 'activities' to other states at this moment. Thanks again.

UPROAR! 6 battery hens were rescued. UPROAR does not endorse or promote any commercial egg production both battery or 'free range' for the following reasons:

Half the chicks hatched are male and are killed at one day old by the egg industry because they’ll never lay eggs. They are macerated in industrial blenders, suffocated in... plastic bags or drowned in buckets.

All laying hens used in commercial egg production are slaughtered prematurely when their economic productivity decreases.

The parents of all egg laying hens (both battery and free range) are locked in breeding sheds. The hens in these sheds are mated continually making their backsides completely raw and swollen. The floor is often covered with a thick layer of excrement causing the air to be toxic with ammonia.

An update on the bunnies - they're all all doing so well. Three bunnies were spayed last week & the last bunny will be spayed this week. Thank you to everyone who donated to help these guys!! The vet says that they have all had multiple pregnancies but now they can live a healthy, happy & stress free life full of love & affection. Their names ... See Moreare now Zoe, Isabelle, Lulu & Poppy!

All four bunnies are the friendliest rabbits you'd ever meet! They are all affectionate, friendly & inquisitive. I can't believe how trusting they are of humans from where they came from & what fate was to become of them.

UPROAR! 4 rabbits were rescued from a factory farm. UPROAR does not endorse or promote 'humane' or 'free range' meat.

Many people don't realise hundreds of thousands of rabbits are imprisoned in bare wire cages all over Australia, millions more worldwide (approximately 865 million) just to be slaughtered for their flesh and fu...r. The truth is that farmed rabbits suffer in just the same way as other intensively reared animals. These rabbits will never experience fresh air, grass under their feet, or the chance to run, jump or dig.

Happily I can report that the rescued bunnies have been very loved members of my family since their escape. I watch these guys leaping around inside the house, rolling over in delight and running over to me for pats, kisses & food. It amazes me that these intelligent & affectionate animals are considered just pieces of meat & fur trim to so many ... See Moregluttonous & vain people. I wish the community would be made aware that these horrid rabbit farms exist right under their noses (most people have no idea that rabbits are farmed).

UPROAR believes there is no 'humane' way to kill the billions of animals required to supply meat to an ever growing human population and it is naive to suppose otherwise. While humans continu...e to demand meat, animals will die in horrific and agonizing ways.

UPROAR does not endorse or promote 'humane' or 'free range' meat.

UPROAR! UPROAR rescue team joined CADS (Coalition Against Duck Shooting) on the opening morning of the duck season, and illegally entered the wetlands to move birds away before shooters arrived. We distracted shooters, explained to shooters why we are opposed to the unnecessary killing of birds, as well as making creative use ...of our signs, 'Big Gun, Little Dick', 'Coward' and 'Animal Abuser'. We wore bright coloured clothing for our safety and to alert the birds of the dangers below. If you support the permanent banning of duck shooting in Victoria please visit: www.duck.org.au
