Isn’t it about time we used our tax dollars to empower refugees instead of sustaining them in substandard camps?
Ask Secretary Clinton to redirect U.S. funds to support a community hosting alternative within Thailand where Thai civic groups and congregations would "adopt" and resettle refugee families much like refugee...s are in the U.S.
Funds would be used to improve local schools, hospitals, and housing that will benefit refugees and local Thais alike. This innovative approach will get refugee families out of camps and on the road to rebuilding their lives, strengthen local Thai communities, and ensure that U.S. tax dollars are not paying for meager food rations for these refugees twenty years from now.

***USCRI gives Maria a second chance at life***
After years of abuse, 13-year-old Maria fled her home to find safety in the U.S. Police arrested her at the border and put her in a detention center. Without a lawyer to represent her at the immigration hearing, Maria would likely have faced the fate of the 7,000 other chi...ldren like her—sent back to a life of abuse and danger.
Find out how USCRI's Children's Center helped Maria get a second chance at life by matching her with a trained lawyer. We provide pro bono legal and social services for unaccompanied refugee and immigrant children as they navigate the U.S. Immigration Courts.
