Sandcastle Days use to be fun for both the people living in IB and also for people visiting IB...somewhere along the line the residents got shafted...ie..fireworks, parade now all we got is traffic and COPS!

Hope they can bring it back to its former glory. My town in Florida asks for extra money with the water bill to pay for the fireworks. Seems to work out.

Shirely has it down to its simple science. Did she mention to keep the sand wet? Don't forget a million and one buckets.

Yeah. A lot of people complain about no fireworks or parade, but how many of them are helping out either physically or monetarily? The lack of both events is completely due to lack of funding. Get someone to make a big donation and you may see your parade and fireworks return.

I agree with you Mike. You hit the nail on the head!! The very first year we didn... See More’t do the parade and fireworks, I went to the meetings and now I’m on the committee. Now I can't leave.

This year because of our community, monetary contributions from individuals and the hard work of the committee, we will have a Sandcastle Competition!!! If you want to make a difference, stop talking and act. Join our meetings and help your community.
Thanks Mike for your clear answer. I challenge everyone who asks why we don’t have something to act and volunteer your time to make it happen. Remember all the committee members are volunteers, we work during Sandcastles some of us till 11pm or 12 midnight to put this event on.
