USNS Vandenberg - Artificial Reef WFTV (ABC) story on Brevard County Boat captains who would like to sink a ship as an artificial reef to grow new marine habitat to grow the fish population. Today they visited the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association's trade show in Orlando Florida.

It looked like a ship sinking in the sea, but it was just a model set up Thursday at the Orange County Convention Center. The group that sank the model ship is part of an effort to sink the real thing off the coast of Brevard County.

The USNS Vandenberg was sunk on May 27, 2009 - Bryan Barbin was killed in a tragic accident on June 28, 2009.
Bryan Davis Barbin, 18, died on June 28, 2009. He was studying Engineering and Chinese at Ohio University and preparing for an internship at Hertz in New York City.
Bryan was a 2008 honors graduate of Worthington Kilbourne High School, ranking in the 99th percentile in SAT achievement.
His passions included reading, football, pole vaulting, snowboarding and surfing. He loved music, playing harmonica, ukulele and Guitar Hero. He was named for his uncle, PA State Rep. Bryan Barbin.
Bryan is survived by his parents, Bradley Davis Barbin and Lyn Tolan-Barbin; his sister, Meaghan and younger brothers, Gavin and Jimmy.
His 3rd brother, Tyler Davis and the Davis family; aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and a great-grandfather will all miss him greatly.
